Cubase 7 Full/Pro versions strictly require a physical USB key to hold the license. The software will not run without this USB key plugged into your computer.
Because the eLicenser servers are offline, the most reliable way to ensure your projects remain accessible on modern operating systems is to transition to the new system. Install the software. It will ask you to plug in your USB-eLicenser. Do so, then reboot your computer.

Cubase 7 requires a legitimate eLicenser (USB or Soft-eLicenser) with a paid license. Any website claiming to generate free codes is likely a scam, potentially distributing malware or stolen credentials. Do so, then reboot your computer
Open it and copy the newly generated (listed in the left column). Log into your MySteinberg account via your web browser. Click on the Reactivation button. Select your old Cubase 7 license from the listed products.
