Try a different USB port, preferably one directly on the motherboard (the back of the PC) rather than a front panel or a hub.

I tested the free driver on a Win11 rig and a Raspberry Pi 5 – worked flawlessly. The latency is negligible, and the calibration tool (included) is surprisingly deep for a “free” offering.

Has anyone else tried overclocking the polling rate on this? I’m getting stable 1000Hz with the free driver.

This is almost always a driver issue. Ensure you have installed the "Vibration" version of the USB driver specifically designed for PC joysticks.
