A sculptor finds two identical stones in a forest. He takes the first stone and begins to chisel it. The stone cries out in pain, begging the sculptor to stop. Taking pity on it, the artisan sets it aside. He then takes the second stone. This stone also experiences immense pain but chooses to endure the blows silently. Eventually, the sculptor transforms the second stone into a magnificent deity, which is placed inside a grand temple. The first stone is placed at the entrance for devotees to break coconuts upon.
